NASA Hot Topics
Hubble Telescope's "deepest-ever view of the universe"
Several hundred never before seen galaxies are visible in this 'deepest-ever' view of the universe, called the Hubble Deep Field (HDF). Besides the classical spiral and elliptical shaped galaxies, there is a bewildering variety of other galaxy shapes and colors that are important clues to understanding the evolution of the universe.
The Nine Planets
"a multimedia tour of the solar system" - sections on all planets and their known satellites, with facts about each, an astronomical glossary that explains basic terms, a list of the largest, smallest, densest, and brightest, a chronology on human discovery of the solar system, and a planetary picture index.
Deep Space Network
Includes the Picture Album of the DSN, DSN Observations of Comet Shoemaker-Levy and the Photo Gallery of DSN Stations.
The Henrietta Leavitt Space Theater
"The Planetarium Show That Never Ends," where various heavenly bodies are displayed and described in non-scientific but informative and inspiring ways. Next stop is the "The Space Image Gallery" where we can view beautiful photos of star birth, Jupiter's Moons, and the Cat's Eye Nebula, all with brief, lucid descriptions.
